Legislative Offices will be closed on Friday, July 4, 2025 in observance of Independence Day. We will reopen on Monday, July 7, 2025.

The NH House celebrated the Bicentennial Ceremony commemorating General Lafayette's visit to the Granite State and out State House in June of 1825!




NH House History! This photo depicts the Committee on Appropriations from 1925-1926. These representatives would have been working out the state budget (as our House Finance Committee is today!) 100 years ago!

The War of 1812 began on this day 213 years ago. Gen. James Miller of Peterborough led the 21st U.S. Infantry at Chippewa and Niagara. When ordered to take a hill, he famously replied, "I will try, sir!"—he succeeded on the 3rd attempt. His State House portrait bears those words!

On this day in NH House History! The portrait of astronaut Alan Shepard, of Derry, NH, was unveiled on this day in 1962! His painting now hangs proudly in the NH State House Visitor Center!

As is tradition, we started House Session today with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Rep. Katy Peternel of Wolfeboro. Kurtis Sheffer from Brookfield sang the National Anthem. He had a fantastic voice!
