Former Congresswoman Nita M. Lowey, a tireless advocate for youth education & pioneer of the 21st CCLC program, passed away over the weekend. Her efforts ensured afterschool programs were recognized & funded. Her legacy lives on through 21st CCLC programs across the nation.

Wrapped up an amazing first day at Innovation Invitational hosted by Beyond School Bells!! Our very own, York 21st CCLC Director, Michelle, had an outstanding presentation about summer programming! It’s been a day full of inspiration, networking and learning. #afterschool
While engagement in summer programming is high, unmet demand is higher. In 2020, there were over 91k kids who would have been enrolled in a summer program if one had been available. Increasing access to summer programming will provide vital resources in every community. #summer
