Tomorrow, Tuesday 29th, is the last day to get onto or escape from the Leicester Line between Watford Locks and King's Lock before the total closure until further notice. Locks open on Tuesday at 10am with the last boat through at 2.15pm. Arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Hurleston. Sigh. ABC lost control on the straight. Dayboat shot through bridge and stuffed it into offside bank. ABC slammed right down the side of it. Sounded horn through bridge. Nothing back. Boat shot out the junction forcing me into reverse. Sigh again.

It's a shame nobody from yesterday's event, either the angling club or @CRTNorthWest took down the restriction notices at Coole Pilate moorings as from a passing glance on a boat it looks like no mooring full stop.

Mon 28/7: Hi folks, sorry, we are not on duty today. Please close all gates and paddles if passing through. We had a report that our Elsan is blocked. This should be rectified later today. Issues at Minworth and Hatton. Please check C&RT notices. Have a lovely day. Dave

Watford Locks opening times Mon 28 & Tue 29 - open at 10am to 3pm (last boat in at 2.15pm). NB There may be a wait of around two hours due to boats queuing. From Tuesday 29 July at 4pm there is a FULL CLOSURE until further notice from Watford Lock 1 to Kings Lock 38.

Reports already coming in of low water levels on the Oxford canal. Its also low here on an 8mile pound on the GU. When will @CRTBoating call for essential movement only across the network??? Soon we will have nowhere to go while all the holiday boats use up all the water!

The pound between locks 3 and 4 at Bosley is just mud with no water.

@CRTWestMidlands We have just cruised Debdale Lock on S&W. There was a recent navigation restriction notice posted about fallen tree there but I don’t recall a follow-up confirming action. Today there are trees down either side of Lock. Navigation possible but only very carefully

And these are the designated CRT moorings above the lock. The workboat has been there as long as time itself. Don't know what to say when the farmers field is better mown than an official mooring! The other ones look neglected from the start too.
