This week is my 10 year anniversary of my first paper posted to arxiv, holy cow, how time flies!!

Also, pretty pictures are pretty
New work on Quantum resource theories! arxiv.org/abs/2507.10851 A big thanks to my collaborators @QuAntonioMele @BermeQP @TheImPolster A. Deneris @MartinLaroo and specially @MvsCerezo We provide a unifying framework leading to new free operations, 🧵⬇️
I am incredibly excited by this paper! We believe it opens up some interesting new directions to study resource non-increasing channels in quantum resource theories!

🆕Our work makes a fundamental connection between the phases of matter to expressivity and scalability of analog Variational Quantum Algorithms (VQAs), as well as proposes a scalable practical initialization strategy based on MBL phase. 🧵[1/10] (Link: scirate.com/arxiv/2506.138…)
This was a super fun paper to work on, with some ➡️ very surprising results! Huge props to all co-authors but especially to superstars first and last authors Max West and @MartinLaroo !!
How fast can quantum circuits compile group designs? Recent work arxiv.org/abs/2407.07754 showed that designs over the n-qubit unitary group can be compiled in logarithmic-in-n depth. Can we similarly build short-depth designs over other groups? In a new paper…
I've been sitting on this result for some time because it seemed too crazy to be true. I really hope I didn't make any stupid mistakes! arxiv.org/abs/2506.15147 A 🧵 on why I think this is a rather strange result.
Since last year Xanadu has been working with us during our summer school! I am extremely grateful for the Xanadu mentor's time and so proud of all the awesome work being done in this collaboration! Huge thanks to @PennyLaneAI !
.@XanaduAI is happy to be back at Los Alamos National Laboratory (@LosAlamosNatLab)'s Quantum Computing Summer School (QCSS) with Maria Schuld and Torin Stetina this year. 🧵1/3
I will be in Madrid in Sept 15 to 19th for the Entangle This VI Conference! Given that I'll be traveling across the pond I'd love to take that opportunity to visit some other local group in Spain! Let me know if you're interested and I can plan a trip :)

This is an extremely cool paper from our summer school! If you missed it, and want the tldr, LANL recently put out a press release on our work!! lanl.gov/media/news/052… Again, huge props to my co authors @alicewithoutbob, @sornborg @MartinLaroo @DiegoGM_quantum!
Can I interest you in a new BQP-complete problem? It's about huge interferometers. Proud to see our paper published in PRL! journals.aps.org/prl/abstract/1… Thanks for the fun collaboration @MvsCerezo @sornborg @MartinLaroo @DiegoGM_quantum. Also on Bluesky bsky.app/profile/alicew…
Extremely proud to see this Quantum Computing Summer School paper published. The paper showcases our student Aroosa , but also our former school student @Matt_L_Goh as the last author! I am super proud to see Matt grow so much as a scientist!
Our paper on error mitigation and learning-based inference techniques in quantum sensing has now been published in @ElsevierMS Materials Today Quantum! 🥳 sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
