This is EXACTLY the game that Protestants play. They pretend they aren't giving their opinion and demand you bend the knee to their opinion about Scripture.
No we make scripture the authority. That is the point. My opinion does not carry binding authority, if I speak according to scripture because it aligns it has binding authority. otherwise it does not. You are free to disregard what is not scriptural me also
The Sacred Heart encompasses EVERYTHING about Jesus. His: • love & mercy • virtues • interior life • redemptive suffering • divine love of God & human love of Jesus united in the Incarnation • blood & water (John 19:34) symbolize the sacramental life of the Church • etc.
Why worship one part of Jesus and elevate it over others? Is not Jesus one person not a divided person. To worship his heart is to worship him but you worship his heart and miss the rest. I have seen while shrines to just this, or his face.
