What we all need at the end of a long week is Joan Sims unable to hold it together while filming a scene for #CarryOn Matron in 1971. Joan was renowned for fits of giggles. Didn't take much to set her off. A great comedy actress.

Remembering actor, writer & producer/director Bryan Forbes #BOTD 1926. He was also MD @ElstreeStudios responsible for films inc The Railway Children. Delighted his wife Nanette Newman cut the Studios 90th birthday cake at celebrations in 2016 and I enjoyed my times at their home.

Remembering one of the loveliest of British comedy character actresses Mollie Sugden, born this day 1922. Here at @ElstreeStudios in 1999 unveiling a plaque to Are You Being Served? with fellow cast members. The happiest of days. And I am unanimous in that!

"Lean on me Mrs Peel, as much as you like." The late great Dame Diana Rigg was born on this day 1938. Here on the very sound stage @ElstreeStudios on which she had filmed her final scenes for iconic TV show, The Avengers, 50 years previously.

This day 1982 we lost actor Kenneth More. Such was his fame that ITV cleared the mid-evening schedule to show classic comedy Genevieve which by then was 30 years old. I am proud to have been given his gold script-marking pencil by his wife, my dear friend actress Angela Douglas.

The late comedy actor and performer Reg Varney was born this day 1916. Remembered especially for The Rag Trade & On the Buses as well as the first person to use a cashpoint back in 1967! I had such fun here interviewing him at his home in Devon back in 2002. Lovely, funny man.

Our @ElstreeStudios 100th birthday celebrations are well underway. Lots of events planned for the coming year. Proud to be a part of the team bringing these salutes to our great history together, while ensuring our Studios are set for the future.

This day 2020, spades in the ground for SKY Studios Elstree. Five years later with @HertsmereBC owned Elstree Studios & BBC Elstree nearby and with SKY having #Wicked and #JurassicWorldRebirth under their belt the British Hollywood has truly returned to our area. I'm so proud.

Sad to hear prolific character actor Gerald Harper has died aged 96. Most fondly remembered for playing the lead in Adam Adamant Lives! & Hadleigh, also took one off roles in various dramas including here in The Avengers & The Champions @ElstreeStudios. Great stage actor too.
