Today I learned that a Christian furry is responsible for macOS requiring you to use your password to change screen lock settings.
Of course, the actual story is more boring. As a teenager, I discovered that OS X Snow Leopard let you change that at any time, so someone could steal an unattended MacBook and easily keep it unlocked. I emailed Apple's security inbox, and they chose to do something about it.
