The Keeping it SAFE: Under 21 Alcohol Prevention Coalition, is an independent coalition who focus on deterring underage alcohol use, reduce adolescent access to alcohol & to reduce the effects of alcohol use in youth under the age of 21. Want to know more or get involved? DM us!

Our outreach inspectors have been at work this summer! They have visited a few middle schools for Excel Beyond the Bell’s Teen Camp. Camp attendees learned about the dangers of under-21 alcohol consumption. Remember, you MUST be over 21 to consume and/or possess alcohol!

One way to help prevent DUIs is to not cut off someone with a final drink. If you see that a person is already intoxicated, be polite but firm. You have the right to refuse service! Make sure that you provide the patron with alternative ride options. Visitbit.ly/RideHomeMC

It’s festival season! Our team is diligently working on making sure that all one-day and festival applications are processed in a timely manner so that event hosts can have alcohol as part of their event. If you have a question about the license, give us a call at 240-777-1999.

One way to help prevent DUIs is to spot the signs of intoxication! Look for cues like loud speech, slurred words, glassy eyes, red cheeks, and spilling drinks to identify when a customer might have had one too many. Remember to cut them off before they reach that point!

It’s finally summer which means it’s time to have fun! Whether you are serving alcohol or selling alcohol for off-premise consumption, make sure that you are doing it responsibly.


A few quick tips for you and your staff while checking IDs:1) Always make sure that you check the age AND expiration date.2) It’s always best to check twice rather than selling to someone under 21. 3) Ask questions to the holder of the ID.

Looking to be able to serve alcohol outdoors? You’ll need to apply for an outdoor café permit. It must be adjacent to your premises, have a barrier of at least 36 inches high, and not be on a public right of way. Want to know more? DM us for more details!

Alcohol is a diuretic! This means that it dehydrates your body. Combine this with the rising temperature during the summer and it is a potential risk. Make sure you offer all of your customers a glass of cold water with their alcoholic beverage.
