Mission To Psyche
@MissionToPsyche
@NASA's Psyche mission to a metal-rich asteroid. Account managed by the Psyche team @ASU. Official NASA communications: @NASASolarSystem.
Imagine our spacecraft so far away, looking back, that the Earth is just a tiny dot! @MissionToPsyche
Everybody wave! 👋 Next week, cameras on our #MissionToPsyche spacecraft will take test images, and some will include Earth and the Moon. No need to get TOO dressed up — they will only appear as dots. All about Psyche's journey to a metal-rich asteroid: science.nasa.gov/mission/psyche/
Tag a friend!😆 Do you know an undergrad with a passion for both space and art?🎨🚀 #PsycheInspired may be the perfect opportunity for them! Don't let them miss out on this creative internship for all majors. Application link in bio!
Calling all college creatives! 👩🎨🧑🎨 NASA's Psyche mission wants you to be part of this year’s cohort of Psyche Inspired interns. Be inspired & share the excitement of the mission with the public through artistic & creative works. Learn more: psyche.ssl.berkeley.edu/get-involved/p…
Happy Asteroid Day from #MissionToPsyche! 🛰️
It’s International Asteroid Day, so let’s rock 🤘 Asteroids are pretty cool: they orbit the Sun, no two are exactly alike, and they’re so old, we can study them to learn about the origins of our solar system. Learn more about these space objects: nasa.tumblr.com/post/787787203…
Someone asked, how is the rest of the spacecraft? Happy to say, all is working beautifully ("nominal" in space terms). I love hearing all the subsystems call out "nominal" in our status meetings.
We are well on our way again! We restarted thrusting on the spacecraft earlier this month. All is going perfectly. The team handled the anomaly investigation with great energy and expertise. Phew!

Psyche's thrusters are back online! ✅ After the team detected a propulsion system pressure drop in April, engineers switched to a backup propellant line. Psyche remains on track for a Mars gravity assist in May 2026 on its way to the asteroid Psyche: go.nasa.gov/3HRDO9W
#PsycheInspired ✨ is an undergrad program for all the space-loving creatives out there!🔭🎨 Open to any major, this might be the perfect opportunity for YOU! Apply today 👉psyche.ssl.berkeley.edu/application

So many cool discoveries to be made between Mars and Jupiter! #MissionToPsyche knows a thing or two about that😙💫
Can liquid water flow on an airless world like the asteroid Vesta? A NASA study found that it may be possible – if the water is salty enough. Lab experiments suggest briny flows could last long enough to carve features like gullies found here on Earth. go.nasa.gov/4jEua7P

Could not be more proud of this team and its excellence. Working through possible issues (the fault tree) with such logic and energy. 537 days of perfect cruise, and now a challenge to solve...space exploration is this way. @MissionToPsyche
Psyche mission engineers are working to determine the cause of a recent decrease in fuel pressure in the spacecraft propulsion system. Meanwhile, the mission team will defer the spacecraft’s thrusting until at least mid-June before the spacecraft would see any effect on its…

Check out the latest from our sister @LucyMission ⬇️
Luuucy, 'splain that if you can! The first images from the #LucyMission's asteroid Donaldjohanson flyby show an elongated contact binary shape, with an odd narrow neck between the two lobes. More data from Lucy will be analyzed in the coming weeks. go.nasa.gov/42mUZrJ
Inspired by the #MissionToPsyche, #PsycheInspired intern Madelaine T. Vu, a neuroscience & psychology major @ASU, created "Psyche's Touch" to symbolize how a single touch can send energy outward, much like curiosity spreads through space.

The #PsycheInspired Iridium Class Virtual Showcase is now LIVE! Explore the incredible fusion of art & science of the #MissionToPsyche brought to life by our talented interns. Don’t miss this limited-time gallery, available for a short orbit only here: psyche.asu.edu/psyche-inspire…
