“A massacre has reignited the forever war between India and Pakistan – once more, Kashmiri voices are missing…” I feel like I’ve been saying this for over twenty years. Baal safed ho gaye. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
We need to end the normalisation of the daily slaughter of dozens of Palestinians. middleeasteye.net/opinion/dont-b…
My brain cannot wrap itself around this level of evil
🚨 BREAKING: Israeli forces have assassinated injured Palestinian journalist Mahmoud Essa in Gaza — who had previously survived an airstrike and was pulled alive from under the rubble. He had lost an eye, had his leg amputated, yet remained determined to survive, hoping for…
“World’s first televised genocide continues under the theme of abject dehumanisation and a truth universally acknowledged: that Palestinians are expected to die, and that they should do so in silence” @LinahAlsaafin Why we must keep talking about Gaza middleeasteye.net/opinion/dont-b…
"Missiles were so destructive that they set everything on fire. Victims were left burning for hours without help. There is no one here to save us.” Israel kills more than 300 in Gaza in 48 hours as focus intensifies on GHF aje.io/5vj0me via @AJEnglish
The truth is, I’m very hungry right now, but all we have left is one loaf of bread, and I can’t eat it. We’re saving it for my father in case he has a diabetic episode during the long night. This is the situation we’re in. I won’t eat something that could save any of us.
I followed the @ZohranKMamdani campaign for months — & every day over the last ten days — sometimes being the only reporter on scene as he traversed multiple boroughs. Read my intimate, first hand account of how Zohran Mamdani did what until last week was deemed impossible.
.@YashicaDutt reports from New York on Mamdani’s victory in the Democratic mayoral primary, for @newlinesmag. newlinesmag.com/reportage/zohr…
“Pahlavi will now most probably return to his suburban throne on the Beltway, to contend with less lofty problems.” This is a rounded, clear-eyed piece by @SohrabAhmari unherd.com/2025/06/did-ir…
No written word can do justice to the power and beauty of the stories I heard in Kashmir. But I tried. Thrilled to announce the India edition of my book, with lovely cover art by Basita Shah, is out on 7th July. Pre-orders here: amzn.in/d/7NuVhNn
This is the first time a Gujarati Muslim has had a chance at real political power in more than twenty years.
"there was a dangerous reluctance from Starmer’s ministers to criticise the illegality of allies joining in Israel’s war on Iran. The consequences are felt all around Tehran by families caught between a bomb and a hard place. They have felt very alone." theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
“We are walking into death. There is no solution. If you want to feed us, feed us. If you Don’t want to feed us, kill us”
WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT Large crowds of Palestinians gathered around aid trucks, amid a hunger crisis in war-torn Gaza. This comes as the EU's diplomatic service reported signs of human rights violations by Israel and criticized its denial of humanitarian aid in Gaza
We've seen so much evil over the last two years, but starving people so they walk into death traps because it's the only chance they might get food for their families is truly one of the most evil things I can imagine.
ISRAEL MURDERED 79 PEOPLE IN GAZA TODAY INCLUDING 50 AID SEEKERS.
Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe told the Guardian strikes on Evin prison were a publicity stunt that endangered prisoners --- also criticised the Labour govt for failing to describe the attacks on #Iran as unlawful (rb.gy/w84ddj)
Great to see that Israel has blown the doors off Evin prison - a symbol of Tehran’s barbarous regime where wholly innocent political prisoners, like Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, are detained for years in appalling conditions. A blow for freedom.
It would be heinous and a reprehensible crime even if the 50+ Palestinians that Israel killed today weren’t starving and waiting for food. aljazeera.com/amp/news/2025/…
The aid massacres in Gaza are relentless and increasingly deadly. The initial toll of starving Palestinians killed so far today trying to get food at a GHF hub in Khan Younis is 45 with hundreds wounded, dozens critically. Nasser hospital is overwhelmed with casualties.
This morning, on my way to the clinic, though even calling it that feels absurd now, it is more graveyard than refuge; I saw a girl. She was sixteen, no older. She was thin, with the kind of tiredness around her eyes that children should never know. In her hands, she carried a…
Shudder. The west is quite literally allowing and supporting a state, which has committed murder on an industrial scale in Gaza and continues to do so, to now start destroying another country, threatening to kill god knows how many!
Then again, why is it surprising that the US is joining Israel’s illegal and immoral war against Iran. It has specialisation in the field.
It’s around 3 am in Tehran and over 10 million people are being ordered to leave their houses “immediately” by a post on social media…
