A full answer to this question would be a spoiler . . . but I am hoping to pull off a dramatic "I love you" scene in Book Two of my academic fantasy Sleep of Reason. (And I'm hoping the dialogue which follows it will tug heartstrings too.)
#WritingCommunity #WritingQ Something made me have to ask, what is the 1st instance of "I love you" in your book? “Mommy, I love you.” He stepped over to her and hugged her as high as his little arms reached. (For my WIP, Healing's Whisper)
I got 2 forms of advice yesterday, so I applied both. I'm drawn toward the shorter (single sentence) version, but that might be simply because it's shorter & closer to the original.
I got the advice I was hoping for "simply remove the extra comma" from most people, so I don't think I need help anymore. I might still delete the post to not waste anyone's time, but for now I'm leaving it up for anyone who *enjoys* playing around with ideas for these things.

I know asking this makes me look like a fool, but how in the world should the following sentence be punctuated?? A child, traumatized by his fears, a selfless man, scarred by his past, and an affectionate feather-dragon, must survive together in the wilderness.
#JulyThrills I mean Jewel burns his parents' house, (many years after he ran away, but still) I think that counts as a homewrecker? In Lawcket's WIP I don't think there any are homewreckers. Fjored can be destructive, but he's just a child & he doesn't do anything horrible.

#FantasyIndiesJuly I'm not quite sure this counts as a confession snippet, but Lawcket does say he's sorry. “I'm sorry,” he said very softly. “Are you really?” Mesellah said, wondering where she got the courage to question her child so bluntly after voicing her fear . . .

Just wondering, how many times does the phrase “I love you” turn up in your books? Under an Azure Sky = 4 Shadows Under the Shade = 16 Fallen Legacy = 33 ! Ashes of Eden = 0 !
Is my whole life a lie? I thought the em dash looked like this--with no space between the words and the dash. And that it was for interjecting thought. Kinda like interupting or cutting off. Is that not right?
#WritingCommunity I hope this question is simple. If I have 2 books which are closely linked, do I put a link to the related book *inside* the other?
#FantasyIndiesJuly day 24 *Many* different friendships are developed in Lawcket's story. They are all painted as meaningful, whether a few short & tragic days as a fellow prisoner with someone he'll likely never see again, or his love for an animal he can't stay with, -🧵
Me: complains about writing rules & over editing Also me: reposts free lance editors offering their services (I don't have to support everything done in editing to support people offering their services. What matters is that we all try to be kind & open minded.)
#FantasyIndiesJuly day 25 Free Friday again So here's the back cover for Bound By Heart. (I know some of you guys will think the full blurb is crazy, but what matters to me most is that I'm honest about the story, & Bound By Heart is in some ways very poetic & spiritual)

#JulyThrills day 25 I think this goes to Aisferk again. He's not one to assume the worst until it's in his face, & he tries to be in a good mood & cheer others up. Which doesn't mean he never gets depressed & grumpy (sometimes life catches up) but he tries.

#JulyThrills day 24 In book 1 Lawcket has to babysit his little sister when his leg is hurt after he got lost & Looccup brought him home, but he's strictly forbidden from letting his little siblings near Looccup, because his Mom's afraid the dragon will hurt her children.

Finished the main scene! The peak is finally done! 🥳✨️ #WritingCommunity #AuthorsOfTwitter #amwriting #WIP
