I feel like it’s inevitable that screwworm is the black swan that kills this cycle’s bull run. The name “screwworm” coupled w/ our phenomenal conditions seems like the perfect combination to screw up everyone’s year. Selling cattle at these levels just feels too good to be true
Heard a good one today, guy said to me “At the end of the day, you know who we are really working for? We are working for our kids and if we’re not working to leave them something of value then we’re not doing our job. We can’t take anything with us but we can sure pass it on.”
Guys, this bull run has been magnificent but wait until the bear run, that shit is going to be an epic money printer if you’re short.
Talk about a humbling experience. Have a sheep auction immediately following a record setting cattle sale where calves are bringing $4-5/lb to lambs doing all they possibly can to break $2/lb & consignors having to no-sale their lot listing. Plum depressing for sheep ranchers.
$499 on 490# steer sounded like a record until they sold the 540# steers for $473. $2554/hd for a 5wt steer. Unbelievable.
That warm fuzzy feeling you get when your phone lights up with “💰Your calls are now in the money”

Trading stocks makes me feel like this is the greatest time ever to be alive. Wish I was around to have traded through the pandemic but this is pretty great too.
Sometimes it’s just little things that give you motivation. My music teacher from 20 years ago(Who seemed kinda old back then) was known for riding his bike back & forth between the schools to teach class. Still to this day he’s never gotten soft, he’s still pedaling w/ a smile.
If you ever need it to rain, start a roofing project on your house and get to a point where nothing can get get wet and the 15% chance of moisture will get to 100% chance. I have tested this theory 3 times in the last week with great success.
Watched a X-bred bawler that weighed 835 bring $295. My first thought was that was plenty for a critter that needed a major discount, then I remembered a straight one would probably cost $330. You just never get used to some of these $$🤣
I started following the cattle futures board back in 2019 and the back months always held a healthy premium over the up front months that you hardly thought was possible. But last 8 months or so the back months hold a substantial discount. Funds own nearly 50% of feeders. 🧐
🤣🤣 Now I will drive 500 miles in a day and the only noise will be occasional phone calls. Radio is rarely ever turned on. Maybe I’m a psycho.
How much do I have on my mind? I just drove 125 miles in dead silence.
Whoever came up with the DEF and emissions systems should be held on trial for crimes against humanity.
Anyone able to use a 950# str the week after the 4th of July?
It’s been 5 years since I wore a straw hat. When I was still riding some bulls I would wear a felt all year for the added protection from a horn or hoof. Found a straw that I would try & in the last week it’s blown off my head 3 damn times & you feel like world’s biggest dumbass
