Writer, Director, Actor, Producer and failed Dairy Farmer.
I think I first met Alan Yentob when he came over from the BBC to interview me for an episode of ARENA titled “I Thought I Was Taller: A Short History of Mel Brooks” around 1980. He was so bright and warm and engaging, I immediately knew I had found an important friend. From that…

So sorry to hear about Charles Strouse. I worked with Lee Adams, Joshua Logan, and Charles (who we all called Buddy) on a musical starting Ray Bolger, ALL AMERICAN, in which he wrote the unforgettable song “Once Upon A Time”. Buddy was so talented and such a pleasure to work…

This week only you can get the e-book of my memoir, “ALL ABOUT ME! My Remarkable Life in Show Business” for only $2.99! (So my advice is to buy it, and then maybe sell it for $3.99…) a.co/d/4POrsku

I was privileged to know Gene Hackman because he played tennis with another Gene—Gene Wilder. And that Gene told him about a little role called The Blind Hermit in our movie YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. He said, “Do you think Mel would let me play it? I’ve always wanted to do a comedy.”…

David Lynch - A huge and sad loss. A remarkably unique and very talented filmmaker. It was such a truly great pleasure to work with him. If his name was in the credits, you knew the film was really worth seeing. I will miss him.
Special Presentation! “Remembering Gene Wilder” Thursday, November 21st at 5pm. Hosted by @AARP and @alzassociation Free to watch! Register below! One-time screening only! Share the love with @MelBrooks @alanalda in this beautiful tribute to #GeneWilder watch.aarp.org/aarpmfg/play/6…
So very sorry to hear about Teri Garr’s passing. She was so talented and so funny. Her humor and lively spirit made the YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN set a pleasure to work on. Her “German” accent had us all in stitches! She will be greatly missed.
I don’t have a cat, so a dog will have to do! But like Taylor Swift I’m all in for @KamalaHarris & @Tim_Walz ! #VoteBlue Double check your own voter registration and find local early voting dates here: vote.gov

TO BE OR NOT TO BE ('83) marked the first onscreen pairing of Anne Bancroft with her husband, actor & filmmaker @MelBrooks. Already married for nearly two decades, the two star in the film as husband and wife. See it tonight as part of Bancroft's #SummerUndertheStars tribute.
A decorated star of the stage & screen, Anne Bancroft contributed a myriad of complex and intriguing characters. With several acclaimed performances, Bancroft is one of the few artists who have won an Oscar, Tony, and Emmy Award. See her films today during #SummerUnderTheStars
Tomorrow on @TCM is a full day of the films of Anne Bancroft! I might be biased, but my favorite is TO BE OR NOT TO BE (1983), because I was honored to be her co-star. What a glorious time we had!

"Comedy let's you do things that are serious in a funny way and get away with it." 🎥 Enjoy our exclusive Peabody Conversation with the PEGOT and Peabody Career Achievement Award Winner, the beloved and legendary @MelBrooks. 🏆 #MelBrooks #PeabodyAwards
Very sad news today. I’ve known a lot of nice people in my life, but nobody nicer than Jay Kanter. If you knew him, you loved him. He was more than a legendary agent. He was a loyal friend, always there when you needed him. I know it’s a cliché but in Jay’s case it is just so…
