Outfield diving: working on going down to dive while popping up quick to make a throw. We started here with a dive where we didn’t take any steps into the dive, to mainly focus on making the catch, going down and getting up quick. We eventually moved to going full speed where…
Slapping drill to work on staying closed, barrel control and hitting ground balls to left side. I have a bucket right infront of me so I am not taking my hands across my body. If I do, I’ll hit the bucket. Make sure your left foot, hips and are facing left side as you’re…
Since we are on the topic of rules, here’s one. This came up recently in the LLWS. I will be honest, I had no idea that was a rule so I figured this would help some of you coaches and players out! Someone tagged me on TikTok and when going through the comments, I saw Brittany…
Someone sent me this video asking about the rules on slappers coming out of the box on a take. This is an educational clip because slappers are always getting criticized when 90% of the time they are doing nothing wrong. Cue the yelling about footwork. It is legal for a slapper…
Michigan! I want to come your way in January (specifically MLK weekend) and do my parent/daughter clinic. However, I need help in finding a BIG space. Big as in, indoor field house big to fit around 200 people. If you have any suggestions, please comment! My next step after that…

Infield diving progression. Start out with the athletes on their knees, rolling the balls close to get them comfortable. Have them stand up and gradually roll them further away.
Drag bunt from left side. 1) show the bat before left foot hits 2) let the ball travel 2) try and catch the ball more towards the end of the barrel 4) master getting the ball down the 1st base line and you’re on 98% of the time. I’ll stand by that until I die.

Great visual of letting the ball travel to apply a tag. Let the ball travel baseline before catching. Don’t reach.
Clips from my latest YouTube video “balanced vs end loaded bats explained” Balanced: Weight is evenly distributed throughout the bat. Best for contact hitters and slappers. End loaded: Weight is more concentrated towards the barrel. Best for power hitters.
Keep working girlfriend!👏🏼
So blessed to have @MegRemSoftball in my backyard to help me with my defense. Incredible insight and direction! Thanks Coach Meg!
Infield drill to work on getting the feet moving, staying low and working on lower arm slots. I like to do 6 total balls, with 3 balls thrown. Righties start to the right of the cones and lefties will start to the left. As you’re going over to the other side, always lead with…
What is really tough to teach- how to move with instincts and be an athlete. Not everything is cookie cutter! Love watching @MLB recap every morning to catch the plays I missed the night before.
On routine ground balls, play to the right of the ball to get momentum going to your target and to get the ball more on your glove side.
DeMarini Lotus bat review with 14 year old Isabelle and 17 year old Kamryn. The bat drops tomorrow and you can find it on justbats.com
Here’s tip #1 of 3 from my latest YouTube video “3 tips to hit faster pitching as a slapper” Slow and controlled through the box gets you on time and allows you to stay in control of your body.
A drill to work on picks at 1st base. Always start in an athletic position, get your glove foot by the ball and work ground up.
How your glove is presented when fielding a ball is very important. Fingers are down and wide open and wrist is flat.
