The EU is firmly adhering to 1 January 2025 for entry into application of Basel III. On market risk, we need to ensure a global level playing field, so we are postponing the entry into application of the ‘Fundamental Review of the Trading Book’ by 1 year.

This morning in Luxembourg I met with @NiklasWykman. We talked about how to reach the EU’s goals for #CapitalMarketsUnion, including what the priorities should be for the next mandate. We can learn from the Swedish experience where the bulk of households have investments.
At #ECOFIN with EU finance ministers today. As momentum grows on integrating EU financial services, I updated Council on the Commission’s analysis of Council compromises on Banking Union, retail investment & supervisory data sharing. We need to do better.
