Brainiac forging a fake video for Clark to trick him into conquering Earth could be the perfect setup for a sequel. Gunn has "stretched the truth" about future plot-related spoilers in the past, hoping this is one of them.
James Gunn has reaffirmed that Jor-El's message to Kal-El was genuine in #Superman: "How can someone not think it's real? I don't understand..." Full quote: thedirect.com/article/superm…
Grace knows this is BS. You can't have this much knowledge about the box office and the movie industry and not recognize how different 2025 is from 2013, especially for DC movies. Man of Steel was riding the coattails of The Dark Knight trilogy, and would not make $670M in 2025
Grace is correct Superman 25 has to surpass Man Of Steel box office . Like she says “why did we go thru all this drama for less money”
#FantasticFour is the best the MCU's been in a while, thanks to a strong cast and a streamlined story. Galactus has a genuine sense of scale and power. Vanessa Kirby's Sue Richards is a bonafide badass. My review, at @TheDirect! @FantasticFour thedirect.com/reviews-rating…
What could have happened in the past 4 years to make so many international markets turn on America? 🤔 Total mystery
I watched Top Gun: Maverick in Korea with my family in a nearly sold-out theater. You don't get more American than Top Gun. Top Gun did $1.5 billion at the box office. It’s not because of anti-American sentiment. Maybe consider making a good film instead of deflecting?
Without getting into spoilers, the "space scene" in #FantasticFour is the most engaging sequence we have gotten in an MCU movie in a long time (maybe ever?). The visuals, score, acting, and story were all at a 10.
#FantasticFour is the most visually stunning and tonally distinct MCU movie yet. All 4 of the main cast members kill it, with Vanessa Kirby being the standout. Giacchino's score is an all timer. You will regret not watching this movie in the biggest theater possible.
There is no way my theater is sold out already for the entire weekend?!? It’s been 20 minutes…
IMAX 70mm tickets for Christopher Nolan’s ‘THE ODYSSEY’ are now on sale. The film releases in just over 1 year. 🔗 imax.com/movie/the-odys…
Because of the way things have played out, most of the momentum going into Doomsday will depend on how well #FantasticFour does and how much fans like it.
#TheFantasticFour director Matt Shakman has revealed that Reed Richards will be "leading the Avengers" in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY! Full quote: thedirect.com/article/marvel…
With hindsight, I think that image of #Superman was used as the first look because that scene is where we get the "being kind is the real punk rock", which is what the movie is all about. Still not a great image, but I get now why Gunn choose it.
Supergirl first look CLEARED #Superman
Impossible not to notice the trend of MCU movies under 2 hours being the ones fans like the least. Having said that, I'm not worried at all about #FantasticFour.
THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS has been listed with a final runtime of 1 hour and 54 minutes!
Pedro is now 2 for 2 in condemning a universe to save his child
“We attempted to negotiate, but Galactus... he asked too high a price. He asked for our child.” — Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards in #TheFantasticFourFirstSteps
I was initially disappointed Superman himself didn't come in for the save here, but now I actually think it's more powerful that Superman was able to inspire other heroes (who otherwise would not take action) to stop I̵s̵r̵a̵e̵l̵ Boravia.
This might be one of the greatest comic book scenes of all time. Tears down my face both times I watched it. This is what superheroes are all about ❤️
It's not, which makes all the comparisons to pre-2019 disingenuous. Man of Steel (which was a success) was released after Nolan's Batman trilogy, while Superman is coming after Aquaman 2 and The Flash, releasing in a worse economy, and International BOs are at a low.
And as much as I love comic book movies the general audience has to an extent grown tired. This isn’t 2016-2019 anymore
Good not great, probably gonna end up somewhere between $550M and $650M. Biggest BO for a DC movie (by far) since 2018's Aquaman. Will be considered a success for WB (especially with merch).
James Gunn’s ‘SUPERMAN’ opens with $217M worldwide. Budget was $225M Read our review: bit.ly/SupesDF
Lucasfilm was greenlighting concepts of a plan, no wonder nothing ever got made
Rian Johnson says his announced Star Wars trilogy “was all very conceptual... There was never any outline or treatment or anything” “Nothing really happened with it. We had a great time working together, and they said, ‘Let’s keep doing it….’ The short version is 'Knives Out'…
The Hall of Justice mural, once we see it in full, is going to reveal 30+ heroes once existed in the DCU. Super exciting, love how they are handling world building.
*SPOILERS IN LINK* A mural in the Hall of Justice in #Superman has confirmed that this major Justice League hero exists in the DCU! Details: thedirect.com/article/superm…
Stars are aligning here, dont be surprised when all the buzz from these controversies along with the good reviews propel #Superman past $130M. All press is good press in this situation.
‘SUPERMAN’ was originally projected to earn $115M-$130M domestically for its opening weekend… However due to overwhelmingly positive reviews, ‘SUPERMAN’ will likely leave those projections “in the dust” (via: Deadline)
