As of this morning, homicides are down 27.7% and nonfatal shootings are down 19.6% compared to this time last year. Our continued progress is the direct result of the comprehensive, evidence-based public safety strategy that we have implemented in partnership with residents.

Baltimore! It’s a new day in Park Heights. I am proud to announce that we’re delivering on promises made and will be officially buiding a BRAND NEW Library right here in Park Heights to replace the one that was there, and closed, when I was a kid.
This investment is long overdue and is a powerful reminder of what is possible when we believe in and invest in our neighborhoods that need it the most.
Anyone who grew up in Park Heights knows, you had to walk 2 miles just to get to a library, because for over two decades, the only library in our neighborhood sat closed. Now, this will be the FIRST NEW library built in Baltimore in FIFTEEN YEARS.

Western students traveled to South Africa, exploring the Cape Town Waterfront and Cape Point. They experienced local culture through rituals, dance, and drum lessons, visited neighborhoods, connected with residents, and donated clothes and shoes to an area orphanage.
