"The Senate just voted to cut federal funding for the news organization I worked at for 25 years. It only has itself to blame." Must-read by @uberliner in @TheFP: thefp.com/p/happy-indepe…
The queen of podcasts investigates one of the most influential stories ever told--one beginning in Norwich in 1144 and still pulsing beneath the surface of the present. @holland_tom @dcsandbrook
Today's @TheRestHistory is a medieval mystery with a terrible afterlife. Norwich, 1144. An apprentice boy named William is found dead. But who killed him, and who was blamed? The origins of the BLOOD LIBEL - a grim landmark in European antisemitism. 🎧 linktr.ee/restishistory
ממשלה שמתעקשת להמשיך את המלחמה הארוכה בתולדות ישראל תתפרק (אולי. חכו) בגלל שחבריה אינם מוכנים לשרת בצבא. מה אומרים? לא אומרים.
An example of what it looks like when Israel's terrible military dilemmas are discussed critically by a smart observer with experience relevant to the subject: x.com/SpencerGuard/s… @SpencerGuard
“Warning Shots Are a Tactical Risk with Strategic Consequences” my latest in @smallwars I personally think warning shots should not be used, that takes providing soldiers more tools and training. smallwarsjournal.com/2025/07/10/war…
I’m not shocked a terrorist leader is a moral monster. The position he expresses here is fundamentally identical to that of a whole ecosystem of "humanitarians,” scholars, and activists. And that monstrosity is, to me at least, still shocking.
Hamas leader Ghazi Hamad, head of the negotiation file, declared: “Even if Israel killed 20,000 or another 100,000; this is a strong card we have on our hands.” This vile, cold-blooded mindset reduces our people’s lives to mere leverage. It’s not just inhumane—it’s monstrous.
Israelis are emerging from the shelters to assess the damage of 12 days of war. At the Weizmann Institute, the cost is impossible to measure. thefp.com/p/at-the-symbo…
Some of the losses from the Iranian attacks in Israel can’t be calculated. My latest for @TheFP: thefp.com/p/at-the-symbo…
The strategy is brilliant in its simplicity: Paint Israel as the nexus of evil. Then paint every Jew who doesn’t renounce it as complicit. Force them to choose: dignity or safety. thefp.com/p/ayaan-hirsi-…
Excellent look by Yehuda Mirsky for @unherd at the ambiguous position of Netanyahu right now among Israelis, many of whom oppose him but support the war against Iran: unherd.com/2025/06/the-ne…
Militarily, Israel and the United States have won the war. Now, diplomatically, we together must win the peace. Iran’s nuclear program must end—no more enrichment, no more warhead and delivery systems—but so, too, must its support for terror and campaign to destroy Israel and…

Excellent summary of this dramatic moment from @JeffreyGoldberg at @TheAtlantic: theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/…
Every single person who has ever passed under these gates, or has been forced to stand outside them to film the regime's propaganda, will be staring in disbelief at these scenes.
BREAKING: Israel bombed Iran’s doomsday clock in central Tehran that counts down the time left until the Jewish state’s destruction, according to the Defense Minister’s office.
American B-2s just changed the Middle East. Now it’s time to return the region to the humans who live here. thefp.com/p/matti-friedm…
After the Bombs: A Israeli-Iranian war, an Israeli-Iranian film, a turning point in history, and the face of a human Middle East. My latest for @TheFP thefp.com/p/matti-friedm…
