And yet she does not mention a single one of the issues I pointed out last week on why he is a failure. This is gaslighting.... sacbee.com/opinion/op-ed/…
2031 redistricting thought -- AI is going to play a big role in drawing lines in 2031. The mapping world will be totally different by then.
In regards to redistricting, many of you are underestimating how far Governor Newsom will go to position himself as the force against President Trump.

My friend @paulmitche11 and I were on Inside California Politics yesterday. We were talking about the redistricting proposal by Governor Newsom. kget.com/inside-califor…
This is good trolling. Approved.
What happens at Coldplay concerts is none of our business, but if you and your boss are looking to go, we have flights to Madison, Nashville, Miami, and the UK
I honor their consistency. Right on.
Democrats: “Gerrymandering is a threat to democracy!” Also Democrats (in California): “Unless it helps us win more seats.” Hey @GavinNewsom, if you’re going to copy Texas, maybe don’t pick their worst idea.
Has anyone heard from Common Cause or the League of Women Voters? They should be denouncing this proposal by Governor Newsom.
This seems like a ton of effort just because you can't seem to beat Congressman Valadao with Rudy Salas.
If a mid-decade redistricting gets placed on the ballot, will the Redistricting Commission be able to spend public resources fighting that? It directly usurps their authority.
The Republicans really need to all be on the same page on this redistricting thing. The issues that legislative leaders are having with the state party are not helpful. Some other organization will need to step up on this.
Governor Newsom may try to justify a mid-decade redistricting because of all the new prisoners on Alcatraz. This is really just snark.
The Voting Rights Act will end up playing a huge roll in this. In the end, it might just end of saving a couple Republican members of Congress. The irony in that is amazing.
Any member of the Redistricting Commission that does not come out against this really needs to think deeply if they are compromised politically. It would be a blatant power grab of their authority. It would be time to step up or shut up.
2031 redistricting thought -- the US Census Bureau is critical to all redistricting efforts. Planning that 2030 count happens for YEARS in advance. Is the Trump administration preparing properly for that effort? If not, it will make everything less accurate.
One strong argument to be made for mid-decade redistricting would be huge population or demographic changes. That has not happened here. California is almost the exact the same size as it was in 2021. Just under 40 million people.
If you think proposed maps have not already been drawn... then I think you are kidding yourself.
