Looks a lot like winter in Colorado. A late April snowstorm is dropping between 4 and 8 inches of snow on parts of the Colorado high country changing the landscape from spring to winter in hours, freshening up mountain peaks, and covering trees with snow. #9news #9wx

Snune! A nice soak this morning brought rain to the lower elevations of Summit County where the temps are around 37 degrees so higher up just above treeline the rain turned to snow dusting the peaks with some fresh June snow. #9News

Independence Pass is a blast! CDOT and the CAIC are working to try and get Independence Pass open by Memorial Day weekend. Even with a low snowpack they’re still blasting for avalanches. #9news
Wildfire burning near Frisco There’s a wildfire burning near Whole Foods in Frisco and showing a lot of fire activity burning towards the interstate. In fact at 6:00PM EB I-70 was closed due to visibility concerns from the smoke. Summit Fire and EMS is on scene. #9news
May want to Chain up in May! In Colorado truckers have to carry chains through May and with good reason. After 7 inches of snow on May 7th in Clear Creek County w saw one trucker try to drive without chains and get stuck. #9news #9wx
