Head of Product Engineering @gitpod. Building @meet_ona. @golang fan boy.
We just shipped chapter 5 of the Anatomy of Go! Chapter 5 covers how Go Code Turns Into assembly. The level of depth @func25 went to here is insane, and I particularly love the diagrams he has created to really drive the concepts home. You can grab the book with early access…

Chapter 6 of The Anatomy of Go is under review. What does it include? A few weeks ago, I moved many sections from Chapter 6 to Chapter 5. So I decided to restructure Chapter 6 to focus on new sections about profiling, tracing, and PGO. It now provides more practical…
I have worn smart watches for close to a decade at this point, but this week I decided to get rid of my Apple Watch. Instead I have swapped to an Ultrahuman ring (health stats) and a Swatch watch. I was finding more and more that my watch was more distracting than the value it…
I'm building a new project and decided to use Go for it this time. Up until recently, I've preferred using Typescript for this because Go tends to be super verbose for simple things but this is more than compensated for by my AI agent as its much better in dealing with Go code.
It is such a surreal feeling to build an AI agent that then can be used to build the AI agent. Almost all of the PRs for @meet_ona are now co-authored by Ona. It feels like cheating.
Love this! @samwhoo is a community gem and I love all his content and thoughtfulness.

Huge congrats to @antonosika and team! 👏👏
Lovable just raised $200M at a $1.8B valuation led by Accel. This all started unexpectedly with me calling my friend at 6AM to go for a walk. I've never shared this story before: (thread)
Here's what I built off of the tutorial - a system design study agent. It works surprisingly well and was built within a weekend! I'm also working on a Go course I'm gonna release soon where we build this from scratch.
I just did the @thorstenball's "How to build an agent" tutorial and it's absolutely mind blowing when you actually go through it. It is surprisingly simple and most of the code is like 100 lines of boilerplate. In 30min of work, you can get some crazy results!
Go really is a great language for LLMs. I’m having meaningfully more success using Go with @meet_ona and Claude Code than JS/TS or react (only others I have tried). I can give fairly complex tasks to these background agents and they are getting done to a good degree on the…
I'm very excited to give the first public demo of @meet_ona at AI Demo Days on Thursday in London! Hope to meet a bunch of you there. I'd like to do more of these, so let me know if I can come show it at your meet-up (or your company) too! lu.ma/t9t6b710
Broke our record for fastest time from starting to first PR merged. Exciting times ahead!
life update: i joined @gitpod! very excited to be working alongside and learning from some of the most talented and dedicated engineers :)

I spent 30 quid on lunch without thinking but will spend an hour researching a software subscription that costs 30 quid for the year.
Happy Friday all! What will you be working on this weekend?
