Just last week, we experienced flash flooding in Braintree, Quincy, Weymouth, and Boston, which left drivers stranded on washed-out roads. These events are becoming more dangerous and frequent. @MassGovernor’s Mass Ready Act will help us prepare for and avoid emergencies.

Earlier this month, #MassDEP met with 7th graders at Brown Middle School’s Career Day in #Newton. MassDEP staff highlighted various career paths, and students participated in an activity focused on pH levels and received a tour of one of our #EmergencyResponse vehicles.

Today, I filed the Mass Ready Act to protect communities from severe weather — and the costs that come with it. Because for every $1 we invest in strong infrastructure and restoration, we save $13 when the extreme weather hits.
Extreme weather events are getting worse, so Massachusetts is getting ready. @MassGovernor’s Mass Ready Act is the largest environmental investment in state history, with $2.9 billion to strengthen our infrastructure, protect clean water, and prepare for disasters.
