I don't think people understand that Sonic is an inherently static character that changes the world and others around him, the whole fairy thing and all that. I know people find that boring, but I like him being that one unrelenting ray of hope. That's what makes him Sonic to me
People saying “b-but he was infected with the metal virus!” as if having an unbreakable spirit isn’t a huge part of the character
