this confirms what academics and students told @sophiehurwitz in this piece: it seemed clear, to them, the government was using Canary Mission
Breaking news via @knightcolumbia: "A senior ICE official testified that the agency assembled a team in to investigate student protestors. The team rapidly compiled over 100 reports based on a list of 5,000 people identified on the Canary Mission website."
“The application was abysmal… it was sorely lacking real content,” a source familiar told me. Read our new exclusive reporting on how an internal government assessment shows officials raised “critical concerns” about GHF. ⬇️
CNN Exclusive: USAID raised "critical concerns" days before a $30 million grant was awarded to a controversial US and Israel-backed aid group, documents show. cnn.it/44mk2MK

My dad and mom left Syria 47 and 44 years ago, respectively, and never returned — until this month. I was blessed to accompany them on their first trip back, to discover the homeland I’ve long been deprived of through their eyes, their memories, their experiences. الحمد لله 🇸🇾

Breaking: ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan was placed on administrative leave following reports of sexual abuse and retaliation by @DropSiteNews and WSJ. Earlier this week, the President of ASP, which oversees the court, called on Khan to resign, but he declined. Read our story here⬇️

So to recap: the State Dept revoked ~ 1200 student visas (per public accounting) which means the students would need to reapply if they left the country but could remain in status. Then ICE terminates the student records associated, tries to arrests them, but now admits this —>
NEW: ICE is filing declarations in multiple cases admitting they don't have power to terminate student status, so students whose student records (SEVIS) are terminated remain in valid status. This means colleges disenrolling students (a majority) are punishing them for no reason.
