More to say about this soon (hopefully in essay form!) but if you think AI writing is labor-saving, or polished, or a useful metric of intellectual or aesthetic judgment, you are a fucking idiot and you should give your job to one of the thousands of adjuncts who knows better
Across many countries, we are witnessing an alarming crackdown: trade unionists being sacked or blacklisted, cultural workers are silenced, and campaigners being harassed or criminalised for their solidarity with Palestine.
A perfect memorial: "I couldn’t help but hear Joshua this past week, his commentary, his theories, his hilarious quips and stupid puns, as brave, ingenious partisans in greater Los Angeles and across the country ran ICE agents out of neighborhoods..." versobooks.com/blogs/news/for…
Its really too bad Joshua couldn't finish the book he was working on--it was this
communization wouldn’t have failed if it hadn’t forgetten about third-worldism as a crucial form of left communism in its synthesis

In solidarity with the movements in Los Angeles and elsewhere across the US, our Riot Prime reading list is 30% off and we've made Joshua Clover's Riot. Strike. Riot free to download.
So you’re telling me there’s a new Miley album out AND riots in LA with people throwing Lime scooters at cop cars from overpasses, BUT Joshua Clover isn’t alive to post about it. HOW is the world still turning?

1. CA governor proposes cutting UC funding by 8% 2. in response to pressure from UC community, CA governor reduces cut to 3% (still bad, but a difference of $249M) 3. UC admin is still moving forward with 8% budget cut, as if nothing had changed utotherescue.blogspot.com/2025/05/betray…
I'm going to an event with colleagues Friday where we can all pick one beloved poem to read aloud and I did not have a hard time choosing. This one. @prolpo
Drawing upon the work of Sean Bonney and Joshua Clover, poet Joni Prince's "Clarification Letter, Nov 2023" illuminates the stakes of the present crisis from Sacramento to Bab Al-Mandab. proteanmag.com/2025/05/15/cla…

not only have universities failed to make a persuasive case against AI, some of them (like my employer) are actively peddling proprietary MLMs to their students 🙃
The takeaway here should not be that students are lazy. 18 year olds aren’t the problem. The problem is that universities have failed to make a persuasive case to their “customers” that they are educational institutions rather than companies that dispense “I’m employable” stamps.
