Cervical #spine stenosis guide we created to implement consistent #radiology reporting across our multi-hospital network. Also included are 3 images from our lumbar stenosis guide from a couple years ago. While no "gold standard" exists, at least we can be consistent. @aboutKP

Exciting news of the development of a new society for spinal CSF leak practitioners: International Society for Spinal CSF leaks (ISSCL). @PeterGKranz unveils its inauguration here in Amsterdam. @issclsociety

Spinal SLECs can be tricky, but patching within these collections shows promise! This method improved resolution rates vs. traditional approaches. However, ventral dural defects remain a challenge. Check out the study by @AndrewCallenMD @MarkMamloukMD! pubs.rsna.org/doi/10.1148/ra…

On the first day of the international SIH leak conference in Amsterdam, @NeuroradLal highlights the role of targeted patching for the various types of CSF leaks.

With this latest study, we now have accurate data of targeted patching of ALL 3 CSF leak types (ventral, lateral, CVFs) from a multi institutional perspective
New multi- center study on outcomes of patching Type 2 #CSFLeaks in @TheAJNR out today! Check it out: ajnr.org/content/early/…

Excited to share our new research paper showing how decub CTM can identify the dural tear in extradural arachnoid cysts to aid in surgical repair. We also highlight several similarities with lateral CSF leaks & hint of a possible spectrum. @Niklas_Luetzen ajnr.org/content/early/…

🌎Congratulations to the 2025 ASPNR CARES Scholarship Recipients! ASPNR is honored to support these dedicated radiologists who are advancing pediatric neuroimaging around the world.
We were honored to host @tim0shepherd from @NYUImaging for our Northern California TPMG Neuroradiology Visiting Lecture Series! @aboutKP To the radiologist: “You will be surprised how often you are the first to suggest a workup or diagnosis (of a neurodegenerative disease)”

Volunteering in medicine isn't just about service, it's about staying involved in what matters. For @MarkMamloukMD, returning to @UCSFimaging as a volunteer means mentorship, connection & real-time learning. Read his story here: radiology.ucsf.edu/blog/mark-maml… #NationalVolunteerWeek
New #CSFLeak paper: "Histopathological Analysis of Five Patients with CSF-Venous Fistulas After Surgical Nerve Root Ligation and Resection" Congrats to @CUMedicalSchool medical student Andrew Mecum for doing an outstanding job leading this project! ajnr.org/content/early/…
In this article, @AndrewCallenMD et al from @CUneurorad/@CURadiology and Kaiser Permanente study the effectiveness of epidural blood patches, especially in chronic cases of ventral dural tears, such as patients with SLECS. @MarkMamloukMD bit.ly/4hP3lwS
Transnasal approach across the nasopharynx to the prevertebral soft tissues!! That must be the first patch like that, @AndrewCallenMD!
Another #CSFLeak paper, out today in @TheAJNR , an incredibly interesting case of CSF-lymphatic fistula in a patient who had a case report written about her 25 years ago in the same journal. We took a transnasal approach to treating this lesion: ajnr.org/content/early/…

3 Main Takeaways from Our Study: ✳️ Acute ventral leaks = unorganized fluid. Patch immediately. ✳️ Chronic leaks = organized fluid. Targeted & nontargeted patching are low yield. ✳️ Intra-SLEC patching may cure chronic leaks but should only be performed by experienced operator.
