NEWS: I am told that defenseman Mace’o Phillips will play for the Green Bay Gamblers (USHL) in the 2025-26 season. Phillips had 4 goals and 9 points with the NTDP U18s last year and was taken by the Calgary Flames in the third round, No. 80 overall, in the 2025 NHL Draft.
Throwback to the last ever game at Williams Arena (1993), a 5-4 OT win over North Dakota to end their season and advance to the Final Five, which the Gophers would send up winning. Can’t think of a better way to send off a legendary barn. #tbt

New @GopherHockey ➡️ Former @GopherHockey Tanner Ludtke and Jimmy Snuggerud connect for another Team Walser goal! 🐿️ #daBL2025 | @StLouisBlues
Mike Reilly with the no-look pass to assist Jimmy Clark 👀 #daBL2025 | @GopherHockey
The 2014-15 Gophers had NINE NHL drafted defensemen: Reilly (CBJ), Skjei (NYR), Brodzinski (SJS), Marshall (DET), Bischoff (NYI), Collins (CBJ), Glover (WPG), Johnson (LAK), Seeler (MIN) I haven’t looked it up but I have to imagine that’s an NCAA record.

Wheeler is one of 9 Gophers to hit the 1,000 game mark in the NHL, leading all NCAA programs. The list goes: Minnesota 9 Wisconsin 7 North Dakota 7 Michigan State 5 Boston University 5 Boston College 4 Denver 3 Michigan 3
Blake Wheeler is calling it a career after 1,172 games! 👏 Best of luck in retirement, Blake!
Also scored one of the best goals in NCAA history
Blake Wheeler has retired from the NHL. The former Winnipeg Jets captain played 1,172 career games, with 943 points and 321 goals ✈️
Congrats on a fantastic career Mr. Wheeler. Gopher legend! 〽️〽️

We have all of the numbers here except for Harris. Assuming Ludtke will keep his Omaha # gopherpucklive.com/roster/
Number updates: Whipple 3 ➡️ 4 Hendrickson 14 ➡️ 7 (Darby’s number) Pritchard 3 Rombach 5 Harris 10 Mooney 18 McLaughlin 24 Moore 27 Di Pasquo 31 I assume Ziemer will be changing from 74 to 2 but I can’t confirm that one. Haven’t heard Ludtke, Townsend or Moe either.
All that’s left to do is have a traveling trophy for the conference champ. No more of this new trophy every year BS. My choice has always been the Berenson cup because he’s the biggest Big 10 hockey legend with actual ties to the conference (coached & worked in league office)
What made the MacNaughton cup such a big deal to win was because the WCHA was a gauntlet. Beating out the likes of Denver, Wisconsin, North Dakota, UMD, St. Cloud, etc. was no small feat. I feel the Big 10 has now reached this level. Every program is so strong. No easy nights.

Cooley is in town for the UMD series. Does he stop by Friday night to see LJ carve up the dawgs?
Mark your calendars! The 2025-26 NHL season schedule is HERE! #TusksUp | @SeatGeek
You guys are good now you can play a real schedule 😭🙏
Penn State announces its 2025-26 non-conference schedule!! 🏒🥅🚨 #IsItOctoberYet 🔗 gopsu.us/NonConSchedule… #WeAre #HockeyValley
We’ve seen teams in the past rely on their conference’s strength-of-schedule to get them in the tourney. Penn St finished 5th in the B1G last year and still qualified. In 2023 they finished 6th and were a 2 seed nationally. Middle of the pack in the B1G can still get you there.
Expectations: Seems like a team that will be fighting to make the NCAA tournament. A tourney birth would be a successful season imo. Lower expectations than usual. Good news is the schedule should be one of the toughest in the nation so they’ll get some help from the pairwise.
