Spot on and excellent advice! Achieving a PhD in clinical psych is very challenging and difficult, but worthwhile, especially if you're seeking to develop and refine the leadership skills/experiences described in this thread.
Wondering if you’re ready to start a clinical psych PhD? It’s competitive, which can often lead to unhelpful, advice (e.g., “work in a lab for two years”). Here’s my perspective on what makes a person ready for a funded PhD at a research univ, independent of age or stage. 🧵
