There was a MAJOR change to NIL rules this afternoon, and @TonyGerdeman and I got a chance to take a deep dive with athletic director Ross Bjork about what it means for the Buckeyes. We'll talk about it LIVE starting at 8:15 pm Eastern. youtube.com/live/L5ytXGyyI…
Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti has asked the NCAA not to punish Michigan for its sign-stealing scandal. @GarrettSearight believes he knows why that happened. >>> Watch here: youtu.be/XgKgj4Xu-qk
Everything Ryan Day said this afternoon during his time at the podium for Big Ten Media Days: youtu.be/bDAqPcGFO3I
Spoke with Ross Bjork about Ross Dellenger's report that third-party NIL deals will be relaxed. “Buckeye Sports Group can operate just like a collective. ... We’re plug and play.” Bjork and Ryan Day were waiting for clarity. They may finally have it. buckeyehuddle.com/2025/07/22/in-…
Curt Cignetti turned a question about his team's scheduling practices into a chance to take a shot at what the SEC schools are doing:
Full updates from Ryan Day. Thoughts on Jeremiah Smith: "At his age, he's further along than anybody I've ever been around."; waiting for clarity on third-part NIL deals; quarterback talk, and a whole bunch more. buckeyehuddle.com/2025/07/22/rya…
Don't love that at all, but I understand public posturing and negotiating are taking place right now between these two conferences.
On future scheduling at Ohio State: It doesn't make sense to have a Power 4 team on the non-conference schedule if there aren't four automatic qualifiers from the Big Ten. -- Ryan Day
Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day took the podium today at Big Ten Media Days: youtu.be/bDAqPcGFO3I
Ryan Day is the first returning head coach to speak at Big Ten Media Days following a national title since Urban Meyer in 2015. Prior to that it was Jim Tressel in 2003.

Yep
The argument from Tony Petitti and the Big Ten for the 4+4+2+2 model has some merit. But the Big 12 and ACC can't have it codified they're inferior, and the SEC coaches don't want to play nine games. So, the impasse. That's where we are in a nutshell. Nothing close to consensus
The biggest problem with the AQ stuff is that conference strength is fluid, especially in the era of conference realignment. ACC basketball used to be incredible, it's been terrible recently. How do you adjust for realities like that in college football?
Formats that increase the discretion of the Selection Committee will have a tough time gaining ground in the Big Ten per Tony Petitti.
Which I absolutely hate, but until all conferences are playing the same amount of league games, this probably has to be his stance.
Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti is making his pitch for the AQ-heavy College Football Playoff format.
