My current pull has only two books, SSoC and this. @PatrickZircher is, IMO, knocking it out of the park with this series, it’s obviously a labor of love. Zircher is a bibliophile and has brought his love of great fiction to the book.
I enjoy the John Carter film for what it tried to do. My only major gripe is that, though the actress is pretty competent in her own right, she's still not Dejah Thoris. Not really. Then again, this was produced by Disney, so I'll cut the team some slack.
