The entryway to #Giants practice facility congratulating Justin Pugh on the day of his retirement announcement. Pugh’s wife, Ange, noticed that it was on this day 12 years ago that he signed his first contract with the Giants after being selected in the first round of 2013 Draft.
The third practice of @Giants training camp is in the books, here’s my practice report from the sideline:
#Giants Safety Jevon Holland on the importance of over-communicating on defense, everyone being on the same page, “If we’re all wrong, we’re all right.”
#Giants TE Theo Johnson on his former Penn State teammate and Giants rookie Abdul Carter: “He’s matured a ton, I think he’s going to be a great player for us”
#Giants TE Theo Johnson on the importance of blocking: “Ever since Penn State, that’s how I got on the field as a freshman in college, was being able to block… I think as a Tight End, you’re supposed to be an all inclusive player”
#Giants TE Theo Johnson says he’s feeling healthy after the foot injury that ended his season last year: “there are no worries on my end, I’m back full go, no restrictions or limitations”
Justin Pugh announces his retirement from the NFL after two stints with the #Giants. The OL was drafted in the first round of the 2013 draft out of Syracuse. “Not many get to go out on their own terms…. To the fans, it’s been an amazing ride… Thank you for supporting me.”

Kayvon Thibodeaux says his goal is to finish, points out the five half-sacks he got last season, “making sure I get everything I deserve this year” #Giants
Kayvon Thibodeaux is really focused on finishing, “we don’t get to practice tackling preseason, until you actually get in the game is the only time to practice taking a quarterback to the ground.” Says he’s been wrestling this offseason to help practice his finishing moves.
Darius Slayton on what QB Russell Wilson brings to the #Giants offense: “Clarity. He’s been playing football for a long time, he knows what he likes, what he doesn’t like, it makes it very simple for us to be on the same page.”
Tyler Nubin on the addition of Paulson Adebo to the #Giants secondary: “he’s real smart… real technical, he’s a pro. Another example for guys to look at as somebody who’s doing it the right way… he’s a guy that’s not afraid to talk and let you know what he’s thinking”
