I have translated this highly interesting dialogue that offers insight into Goethe’s political stance and displays a very private interaction wherein Goethe lays bare a side of himself that he rarely revealed. The link to the translation is in the first comment.

I still post the exact same way that I posted when I had 80 followers. There's a group of 20 people occasionally liking my posts and I am relatively sure that most followed me back then as well, so it is highly confusing to me as to how and why I have amassed so many followers.
If one intends to present an example of genuine European culture, it should at the very least correspond to the authentic sublimity of the Occident, ie. poast Bach, instead of nouveau riche equivalent of classical music.
A magnificent example of the European culture we’re told doesn’t exist. Touches my heart every single time.
