A generation was lost in the Srebrenica genocide and new generations continue to live with its legacy. Today, we honoured the victims and stood in solidarity with the survivors and their families. 30 years on, their pain endures — but so does their courage. #RememberSrebrenica 🕊️

Today, I stood in silent remembrance as part of the #Srebrenica30 genocide commemoration. At the @UN, we honor the victims and stand in grief with survivors and their families. Their pain reminds us of our shared duty to uphold the promise of #NeverAgain.
At the Srebrenica Genocide commemoration, @DicarloRosemary paid tribute to the victims and urged leaders to engage with the past through dialogue and responsibility—to help lay the foundation for a peaceful, inclusive future. Her full remarks: dppa.un.org/en/msg-usg-dic…
The 30th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica is not only a moment of reflection. It is a call to vigilance & action. At a time when hate speech, denial & division are gaining ground, we must stand firm for truth & justice.
30 years ago, in July 1995, over 8,000 Bosnian men and boys were systematically separated from their families, executed, and buried in mass graves. Thousands of women, children and older persons were forcibly displaced. An entire generation was lost.
Ahead of the 30 year commenmoration of the Srebrenica genocide, we were honoured to host a Diplomatic Briefing with IRMCT President Judge Gatti Santana, Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz, and Registrar Abubacarr Tambadou. #Srebrenica30

As we remember the victims of the 1995 genocide in Srebrenica, we must also confront the reality that hate speech is on the rise again, fueling discrimination, extremism, & violence. We cannot ignore the warning signs. Let's confront denial with truth & impunity with justice.…
