The plight of Bowning & Binalong locals in the Riverina electorate, adversely affected by the rush to renewables to appease ideology, is not an isolated case. The madness needs to stop. Read my full opinion piece which first appeared in @dailytelegraph : michaelmccormack.com.au/locals-rebel-a…
The Bowning & Binalong communities, in the Riverina electorate, are facing the prospect of 90 wind towers – almost as tall as Barangaroo Tower – casting shadows across the idyllic vista & bringing dire consequences. The rush to renewables must stop, enough is enough.
A wonderful night celebrating the region’s athletic talent at the Southern Sports Academy Presentation Evening at the Riverina Australian Football Club on Friday night. Honoured to present the major awards to the deserved recipients. Full list of winners: facebook.com/share/1CNZpA1z…

The decision to let US beef into Australia is just the latest in a long rap sheet of questionable decisions made by Labor against the interests of regional Australians, and our farmers and communities deserve better. Read my media release: michaelmccormack.com.au/australian-bee…

.@The_Nationals are sent to Canberra to fight for the regions. That’s what I am doing – speaking out against the irrational rush to renewables that Chris Bowen – the Federal Minister for Ruining the Regions – is orchestrating whilst country communities suffer under the strain.
Good to speak with Peta Credlin on @SkyNewsAust last night about the rush to renewables madness that is upsetting country communities & ruining lives & livelihoods in the Riverina. This must stop! Here is a clip from the program. Watch my speech here: youtu.be/RrB9lZorHS8
The rush to renewables to appease an ineffectual net zero target that won’t move the global climate dial one iota is dividing families, ruining generational friendships & harming country communities in the Riverina. Discussed this issue with Kieran Gilbert on @SkyNewsAust today.
A rare honour to second the nomination for @MiltonDickMP to be the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the 48th Parliament of Australia. Milton was exemplary as the Speaker in the previous Parliament & will do a great job again. Watch my speech: bit.ly/40tCEId
Temora-born Private Walter Fagg was remembered at a special Last Post Ceremony today at the @AWMemorial to mark the start of the 48th Federal Parliament. This brave son of the Riverina, who served with the 2/27 Australian Infantry Battalion in World War II, died in 1941.

Big changes in the Riverina media landscape with two notables moving on … Peter Mahoney retiring after more than half a century in Riverina newspapers & radio & @WINNews_Riv cameraman James Saligari returning to Sydney to join @9NewsSyd. Thx & best wishes for the future to both.

Great to visit #Crookwell to celebrate the 200th issue of The Upper Lachlan Gazette. Congrats to the newspaper’s publisher Floyd Davis, editor Tristan Kensit, team of volunteer proofreaders & local advertisers who work tirelessly to keep this community publication thriving.

Only scant details but wreckage of a missing plane has been located in the search area near Khancoban, according to Police media.

The search continues, despite low cloud and restricted visibility, for a plane now missing for more than 48 hours, in the Snowy Mountains. Spoke to Georgie Burgess of @WINNews_ACT about the worrying situation this afternoon.
Deep concern over a plane which has gone missing in the Snowy Valleys region with its last known whereabouts above the rugged terrain east of Khancoban. Holding hope for a favourable outcome. Picture: Google Maps

Spoke to @_juliabradley on @SkyNewsAust about the urgent need to slash bureaucratic and green tape as a means of boosting productivity for farmers and #SmallBiz. This should be a Government priority with the return of Federal Parliament next week.
He was only 19, but the bravery of a boy from Gundagai is the stuff of ANZAC legend. 7NEWS.com.au @MarlinaWhop #7NEWS
Serving our country, Richard Norden is an Australian hero, and he's finally been awarded the Victoria Cross he deserves. #9News @DavinaSmith9
The investiture of the late Richard Norden’s Victoria Cross for Australia was a proud and historic moment for his family, the Gundagai community and our nation. Proud to be at this special occasion and speak of an extraordinary Australian and his gallant act as a 19yo in Vietnam.
Australia skittle West Indies for just 27 - the second lowest score in Test history since New Zealand's 26 in 1955 - to complete a 176-run win and series clean sweep in Jamaica.🚨 Mitchell Starc, playing in his 100th Test, took 6-9 which included five wickets in 15 balls. ⚡️
