Throwback Thursday – The Roots of Interoperability In 1984, Michigan set out to unite all public safety agencies under one system. By 1994, funding was approved & Motorola won the largest contract in state history. From 1995–2002, MPSCS made full interoperability a reality.

30 Facts for Our 30th Anniversary! Fact 16: Before MPSCS, some State radios had to be programmed by manually removing the EEPROM & using a special device. Now, radios can be programmed remotely via the system or Wi-Fi, even queued to update automatically when powered on!
