I'm extremely happy to share our new study now out in @NatureHumBehav - with @Daria_EA_Jensen, Yu Takagi, Luke Priestley, @LennartVerhagen @fmrib_steve and Matthew Rushworth: nature.com/articles/s4156…
Long overdue #tweeprint: ✨The generalised hierarchical Gaussian filter✨ Ever wanted to build your own hierarchical Bayesian learning model without deriving/implementing new equations? Ever wondered how the HGF relates to predictive coding? See here👇 arxiv.org/abs/2305.10937
Wahoooo - we can’t wait for you to join us!! Huge congratulations Caro 🥳
I'm still in shock, but so excited to return to @UniofOxford next year with a @wellcometrust Early Career Award. Here is to five years of cerebellar ultrasound research with @MKFlugge and my other stellar collaborators! Thank you to everyone who helped me on the way. 🥳🎉🧠
In the 1950s Brenda Milner changed the course of 🧠brain science by identifying the specific brain region crucial to memory formation and by identifying multiple memory systems. Today we celebrate her 106th! Happy Birthday Brenda Milner!🎂🎉 mcgill.ca/x/wYY
With over 220 participants from 16 countries, both in-person and virtual, we successfully concluded the @itrusst #FUN24 congress from July 11-13, 2024, in Toronto. The event featured 9 invited speakers, 20 oral presentations, and 47 poster presentations. We look forward to seeing…
New analysis from the @royalsociety shows just how high UK visa costs for researchers are compared to upfront costs for similar visa routes in 13 other countries. Here, we take a look at how the UK compares to countries in the G7 included in the analysis 🔍⤵️ 1/5
Just Announced! The #KavliPrize2024 Laureates in #Neuroscience!
Selective non-invasive ultrasound modulation of individual thalamic nuclei in healthy adults during fMRI. This has been one of the longest, hardest, most fun, and most exciting projects I have worked on. I could not be more excited to share it. Thank you to all involved.
1/7 Excited to finally share our new preprint on a groundbreaking non-invasive brain stimulation technology! 🧠💡 This work represents a 7-year collaboration between @ucl and @UniofOxford biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
🧠 Exciting opportunity! Join our newly founded Social Computational Neuroscience lab @EP_UCL as research assistant! 🔬 Combine ultrasound brain stimulation, neuroimaging, computational modelling to study social decision-making. 📒 tinyurl.com/y7ua23rp ⏳ 16 July 🔁 Please RT

Dr Elsa Fouragnan joins us as part of our BNDU Seminar Series on Wednesday 5 June to talk about "Early-phase neuroplasticity induced by repetitive transcranial ultrasound stimulation in humans". Don’t miss it! ⏰3.00-4.00pm📍JR West Wing, Floor 6 Room A&B @NDCNOxford @UniofOxford
Another brilliant poster to check out today - by the amazing @lilwebian - if you are at #PuG2024
Let's talk about efficient & fun task designs for studying decision-making with M/EEG, volatility & stochasticity, and a little bit of ketamine... 👀 ...at my poster P410 at #PUG2024 @bioDGPs_DGPA later today!
And don’t miss out on Johannes’ poster on Thursday if you are at #PuG2024 - he will present our first human ultrasound results sonicating the amygdala 🥳
Sunrise in Oxford at 4:30 - - time to catch the bus to Heathrow for #PuG2024 at @unihh! Hope to also catch up with old and meet new people

Happy this project is now published in CABN! 🎉 doi.org/10.3758/s13415… In the Motivational Go/NoGo Task measuring Pavlovian biases, we find that pupil size is not linked to cognitive conflict per se, but to action invigoration needed to overcome aversive inhibition.
1/8 Project 2: The role of Pavlovian biases among other “decision systems" (goal-directed/ habitual, WM vs. RL, …) is not clear. One idea is that it is an “emergency system” in situations of stress/ high arousal, using sensible action "priors"... biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
I will be joining remotely to speak at this too, looking forward to it!
Join us for our upcoming event all about 'Caring Responsibilities in Academia' held at @UniOfYork ! Please use the link below to sign up (in-person and virtual attendance possible) ⬇️ With many thanks to our internal panel speakers @Eva_Kimel , @aidanhorner , and @NoonanMP !
Thank you to those who attended our fundamentals & application of TUS workshop @BrainBric, and to our amazing speakers and organisers for hosting such an informative, hands-on workshop. #TUS #Ultrasound #BBI #Workshop
