The Mississippi Department of Archives and History is the official archival and historical agency for the state of Mississippi.
It was an honor to join the State Government Intern Summit today and meet with the future leaders of our State! I am fortunate to have several of these interns at my office this summer. What an incredible group of young students with true servants’ hearts!
Today at noon Thomas Helling will explore southern doctors’ attitudes toward health & healthcare at #HistoryIsLunch in the auditorium of the Two Mississippi Museums. Copies of Helling's book, "Sickly Vapors: Disease and Doctoring in the Old South," will be available for purchase.

MDAH kicked off commemoration of @America250 by hosting a Naturalization Ceremony at the Two Mississippi Museums. By an oath of citizenship administered by U.S. District Judge Daniel P. Jordan III, seventy-eight people became American citizens.




MDAH offices, the archives library, Eudora Welty House & Garden, and the Grand Village of the Natchez Indians will be closed on Friday, July 4, for a state holiday. The Two Mississippi Museums will remain open on Friday, July 4, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
