Sometimes you just have to sit back and enjoy the beauty of Gods creation

Well we got the cows and replacement heifers up to summer grass. I keep some of the cows in the valley on irrigated grass but most go north to Sioux county and the best grass in Nebraska

Branding day and the wind suuucked. An old fart like me sure appreciated the vets hydraulic calf table.

Doesn’t matter how good mom is the kids will have to fend for themselves when there is DDG cubes to be had.

Beautiful 8 tenths of rain today. Even the newborn calves thought it was good.

Nothing like the first one to raise your spirits and bring a smile to your face. Especially when it is on a sunny 70 degree day

Got the girls home from cornstalks today. We’ve had a pretty mild winter so far and I don’t remember them being in this good of condition when they came home. Some might be in a little too good of condition. I would give away some condition if we could have gotten more moisture

This week I’ve seen posts about great prices for all classes of cattle. I sold my first fat steer at the Omaha stockyards the last week of July in 1973. We got either $.50 or $.51, if you put that in 2025 dollars it’s about $3.60, not close to that yet, something to think about
Bull sale today. I know it’s only one sale but the prices were a lot stronger than a year ago.

Weaning time for the heifers, the steers sell tomorrow at sugar valley stockyards
