Isn't it all just a load of existential nihilism anyway? Having a little Snoop around. #WearAMask please & thanks. ❤️ = solidarity. 🏳️🌈 & Disability ally.
#StillMasking & still being looked at like a weirdo but now more than ever it's important to avoid airborne infections. The Government sure isn't going to support you if you become chronically ill.

Confirmation by Baroness Sherlock in the House of Lords yesterday that the Severe Conditions Criteria diagnosis requirement can be completed by a qualified non-NHS healthcare professional as long as their diagnosis is recorded somewhere in the NHS system 👇

UK welfare spending is 10.6% of GDP. Right wing press never mentions that it is well below the OECD average. UK has some of the least generous welfare across OECD. No questions asked about corporate welfare, uncosted tax reliefs to corporations/rich. gov.uk/government/pub…
⏳ Final week to sign up to the Green Party. 🗳️ Vote for Bold Leadership on August 1st.
Ugh. No. Not Ozzy! Saw Black Sabbath at Download in 2012. Messy but who cares. RIP legend. 🖤🤘🤘🖤
Heavy metal star Ozzy Osbourne has died, just weeks after reuniting with his Black Sabbath bandmates and performing a huge farewell concert for fans. Live updates ⬇️
And that's me done with the commentary. Universal Credit Bill has passed the House of Lords. Unsurprised but am surprised Motion of Regret was not supported. What a shit show. Goodnight peeps.
Baroness Bennett of Manor Castle (Green Party) Motion of Regret not supported by majority of House of Lords: content 17, not content 120. Good grief.
Baroness Sherlock (Labour) in HoL on #UCBill closing statement: migrating income-related ESA will be treated as existing claimants, even after April 2026 so WON'T be allocated the 48% cut rate.
Baroness Sherlock (Labour) in HoL on #UCBill closing statement: Severe Conditions Criteria is an existing set of criteria in which fluctuating nature is embedded in some descriptors. Diagnosis will be recorded somewhere in NHS notes i.e. any private diagnoses will be in GP notes
Baroness Sherlock (Labour) in HoL on #UCBill closing statement: this bill is 1 part of a wider programme. Denies anyone will be pushed into poverty. Pretty much reiterates her opening statement. Confirms auto-disqualification for under 22s not in this bill.
Lord Palmer of Childs Hill (Liberal Democrat) in HoL on #UCBill: there are still people stuck on UC because they're stuck in an unresponsive NHS. Cuts will force people to choose between food & medication. Revision to SCC & restorations of essential safeguards are needed.
Baroness Smith of Llanfaes (Plaid Cymru): bill will make the 2 tiers that already exist in current system worse: under 25s get 20% less UC, housing element can be 45% less for those under 35 in some areas. Presumption is that all young people have parents who can fill the gap.
I literally cannot post about Lord Liddle's (Labour) contribution in the HoL on #UCBill as he uses divisive language & misleading figures. Contradictions in his rhetoric because he laments child poverty whilst supporting cuts to welfare that will only exacerbate child poverty.
Baroness Scott of Needham Market (Liberal Democrat) in HoL on #UCBill: 400,000 with M.E. & quarter are bedbound. Lifelong condition but fluctuates & unpredictable. UC training module: 30 minutes to complete. 49% of UC decisions is overturned. Is that related to level of training?
Baroness Bryan of Partick (Labour) in HoL on #UCBill finding skilled, well paid jobs is hard for everyone. The slogan "everyone who can work should work" is meaningless if employers are even less interested in bringing disabled into workplace. That's where focus should be.
Lord Sikka (Labour) in HoL on #UCBill: we are all one accident or serious illness away from becoming disabled & needing benefits; no one can survive on the new rate of UC Health. Bill removes hope and support for those who need it.
Lord Sikka (Labour) in HoL on #UCBill: no assessment impact of bill on NHS, public services, families, or human dignity. Huge financial savings are unlikely to materialise. Violates any notion of equality: 2 tier system & existing claimants not safe as circumstances can change.
