All right, listen up: "Moses and the Doctor" is now available for pre-order. It's got Dr. J, Moses Malone, the ABA, playground basketball, Philly, Houston, Bird and Magic, and much more. It comes out on February 10, 2026. Let's go. barnesandnoble.com/w/moses-and-th…

I listened to a right-leaning podcast in which the guests were wringing their hands about "socialism" and trying to figure out why it's surging among young people. Folks, look no further--if you give tax breaks to the rich while stripping healthcare, you'll get an answer.

I once gave Kevin Mitchell directions to a mall.
Share a piece of baseball lore about yourself!
Here's something I've learned about having a better social-media experience: follow more folks from Canada.
That liminal zone for nonfiction writers where they've zeroed in on their next big topic but have yet to figure out what the storytelling arc is, how to tell it, and which historical figures to use as narrative vehicles. Stay too long in this space and dread will kick in....
Here's something I've never seen: apparently in 2001, Mitch Hedberg sold a show to MTV that would consist solely of documentary footage of him being a comedian. The comedian Doug Stanhope just posted the pilot online: youtube.com/watch?v=qJpMNy…
Fiction writers will never experience the pain of sifting through copyedits of lengthy endnotes....
The scene where Bondi gave a bunch of influencers binders labeled “the Epstein Files” is the funniest Coen Brothers bit that not even the Coen Brothers could’ve conceived of.
Anyway, looking forward to more posts from the Commander-in-Chief about baseball-related matters in Cleveland....
It is, of course, hugely beneficial that all this great reporting is coming from The Wall Street Journal. I'm not someone who's paranoid about the so-called "mainstream media," but at least it's harder for those who are to dismiss this source.
If there were still publications that accepted such pieces, I'd write a long article arguing that "The Muppet Movie" and "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure" are in essence the same movie, from their world-building to their picaresque structures to their cinematic endings.
I have a whole chapter devoted to him in my new book, due out September 9, "Make Me Commissioner, I Know What's Wrong With Baseball and How to Fix It." Gotta love a guy who talks about his craft using words like "creativity" and "imagination."
Welcome (back) to The Show, Rich! 👏
Look, if you were sincerely interested in "Making American Healthy Again," your focus would not be on getting cane sugar back into sodas. It would be on fighting tooth and nail against the cuts to healthcare that will affect our most vulnerable populations.
I'd love to see Stephen Colbert take the Conan O'Brien route. Colbert is so good on podcasts, where he has the room to dig deep on his family, his personal tragedies and how they've informed his life, his deep Christian faith, etc. He's also the best interviewer on late night.
This of course should go without saying, but the federal government--the president, no less--demanding that a private company alter its branding or suffer consequences is about the most unconservative thing I can think of....
President Donald Trump is threatening to hold up a new stadium deal for Washington’s NFL team if it does not restore its old name of the Redskins that is considered offensive to Native Americans. espn.com/espn/story/_/i…
