This is long overdue and @LibDemLords have been pressing the case for years. Tories weren’t interested (funnily enough) but Labour should be bolder and introduce a maximum cap for political donations to prevent buying elections…theguardian.com/politics/2025/…
A new date has been set for the trial of former Labour Leader of Liverpool City Council Joe Anderson on bribery and misconduct charges. Also on trial will be others including former Deputy Leader Derek Hatton. It will be April 5th 2027, just before the local elections!
If the Sefton Park swing was replicated across the city @LiverLibDems would become the largest party on the Council. The result is a clear sign of the upward movement of the Liberal Democrats in Liverpool and that the city is crying out for a fresh start with new leadership
What is it about the costs of ex-prime ministers that justifies a lifetime allowance of £115k pa, even when they are sacked by their party in disgrace (Boris Johnson) and served for 49 days before being sacked (Liz Truss)? My parliamentary questions:



@ElecCommUK is right to welcome measures improving voter registration. But also right to say that this Govt should not continue Tory Policy of imposing a Strategy Statement on it if the Commission is an independent body safeguarding elections electoralcommission.org.uk/media-centre/e…
