With @GovGoneWild now the new chief financial officer some changes have apparently been made in the Fla. Senate per a memo. @JoeGruters - who is running for CFO - has been made chair of the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee. Ingoglia had previously been the chair.

As of right now, it’s thought that Collins may be DeSantis’s candidate for governor in 2026. This would place him against Trump-endorsed Byron Donalds, if he runs. Collins: “Why would you not” want to be governor?

Sad news: Democrat @RepJoeCasello has suffered a massive heart attack. According to an email from the Palm Beach leg. delegation, "Despite the tireless efforts of his medical team, the damage to his heart was extensive, and unfortunately he is not expected to recover."
NEW: Florida Supreme Court upholds the state's congressional maps. A challenge had been brought over the former CD 5, a Black opportunity district stretching from Jacksonville to Tallahassee that was removed by the Legislature at the direction of Gov. DeSantis.
U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams is now presiding over the suit to halt Florida's detention center in the Everglades. The previous judge recused himself today. This means Williams could order a stop to the detention center that AG Uthmeier has been at the forefront of.
