It is a beautiful and large hit-and-miss engine with a clever starter. These things literally last 100+ years: they are the pinnacle of combustion engine reliability. Before this it was all steam engines, and after this its all crap.
The economics of being a private farmer are not favorable to anyone who does not inherit or continue an existing farm. Equipment alone is $million+, and the ROI is small, some years negative. Most small farms ultimately get sold to big agro or parceled off for housing.
