BREAKING NEWS 📡 Here’s what that means ⬇️ The Big Beautiful Bill expanded a loophole allowing certain drugmakers to bypass Medicare price negotiations if their medication is labeled for a “rare disease.” 🧾 That label? Orphan drug 💸 The result? No negotiation. No discount.
📈 Higher costs for patients and taxpayers even when the drug treats tens of thousands. This isn’t new it’s a long-standing industry exemption. And now, the same medication can be exempt from negotiation simply because it’s reclassified.
This week’s spotlight: our Houston team went above and beyond to meet a patient’s needs—even outside the usual playbook. 💡💙 Shoutout to Naya & the Dashwood crew for proving that care has no boundaries.

A recent legal effort to expand access to mifepristone a safe, evidence-based medication used in medication abortion was struck down last week. The multi-state lawsuit challenged the FDA’s certification requirements for pharmacies dispensing mifepristone.
While a federal judge had initially paused the rule, the court has now upheld it, ruling that the FDA followed proper procedure. The medication remains available by mail in many states, but ongoing restrictions continue to place added strain on providers
and limit options for patients despite mifepristone’s long-established safety record. As legal conversations evolve, including possible references to the Comstock Act, the focus remains: how to ensure access to safe, effective care across communities. #ReproductiveHealthAccess
