Linked II, an art exhibition by Mary O’Connor will be opening tonight at 5:30pm and will be on display here in the Limerick Museum until the 31st of July. "In this exhibition the works are all related to the land we live on, secrets and storytelling." - Mary O'Connor

Liam Redmond was born on this day in Ballinacurra, Co. Limerick, 1913. He performed in 50 productions and directed 10 plays in the decade he spent with the Abbey Company, described by W.B Yeats as ‘the best Cuchullain I ever saw’. He would go on to star in several feature films.


Today in 1963.. Rock and Roll singer Chubby Checker performed in the Oyster Ballroom in Dronkeen, where he performed famous hits including "Let's Twist Again". The Oyster Ballroom had opened in 1958, and was described at the time as the "Largest Ballroom in the South"
