Wow 😬 The comments on my post about Villeneuve being interested in telling women's stories (as Fleming was - he wrote an entire book from the perspective of a woman!) has exposed some rather depressingly reductive views about the appeal of 007.
So many reasons to be excited about Villeneuve directing Bond. Chief one for me: he understands women and is interested in telling their stories (unlike some of the other rumoured contenders).

Now we have a messiah-level director, the rest of the details can't be far behind. Denis Villeneuve is responsible for some of my favourite films (including Arrival and Sicario) so I'm going to struggle to contain my enthusiasm from this point onwards.
