Fabulous to be invited to the House of Commons again - made even more special by meeting Siobhán McSweeney. She is lending her support together with Daisy Cooper to the bill Liam Conlon is trying to introduce to help protect compensation payments for Mother & Baby home survivors

Clann has sent a follow-up report to the UN Special Procedures mandate-holders who wrote to the govt in 2021. The submission highlights the ways in which many affected people have been excluded from the State’s discriminatory justice & redress measures. clannproject.org/wp-content/upl…
(1/2) Delighted to have the backing of Siobhan McSweeney for Philomena’s Law which is being debated in Parliament today. It will deliver justice for thousands of survivors of Ireland’s Mother and Baby Homes living in Britain…
Honoured to be invited by @LiamConlonMP to the Commons today for the debate on #PhilomenasLaw—vital legislation to ring-fence compensation for mother & baby home survivors. Grateful to @libdemdaisy for her beautiful, powerful support. We are being heard.

It was great to meet with Minister @NormaFoleyTD1 today on “Philomena’s Law” to support thousands of survivors of Ireland’s Mother & Baby Homes living in Britain. I’m really grateful for the support I’ve had from her and the Irish Government so far.
A pleasure to welcome British Labour MP Liam Conlon to Leinster House today. Very positive discussions on a number of issues including his excellent work on advancing “Philomena’s Law.”
I’m truly grateful to have been invited to speak on a panel at the House of Commons alongside MP Liam Conlon. He is working to introduce legislation that would ensure redress payments for survivors of Mother and Baby homes in Ireland are ring-fenced for those in the UK.

Tonight I held a public briefing on Philomena’s Law in Parliament with @irishinbritain It was particularly moving to hear from survivors - a reminder of the need for change. There are 13,000+ living in Britain. Thanks to everyone who came and to @PronouncedAlva for chairing.
It was a pleasure to be there and support all that you're doing on Philomena's law. It's a shocking & cruel injustice.

Today I introduced Philomena’s Law to support the 13,000 survivors of Ireland’s Mother & Baby Homes in Britain Currently, accepting compensation from Irish Government will mean they lose means-tested benefits Just as we did with Windrush, we must ringfence compensation payments
I’m honoured that my son, Joshua, and I were invited to the House of Commons by MP Liam Conlon to witness the introduction of the bill "Philomena’s Law." The bill aims to protect redress payments awarded to survivors of Irish Mother and Baby Homes in the UK #Philomena

Just watched Mama’s movie #Philomena on @BBC1 - haven’t seen it in a while but still gets me every time - that Sister Hildegarde had a lot to answer for! But my mum is truly forgiving! Had forgotten what a good job Judi Dench and Steve Coogan did in telling the story
