Very happy to share our new paper now on @medrxivpreprint: “Genetic risk effects act in sets”, a great effort led my PhD student @JolienRietkerk, and performed together with collaborators @andywdahl, @AndrewSchork, @jonathan_flint1 etc. Thread 1/n
I just had the most wonderful time at the Quantgen @GordonConf in Italy with these lovely and brilliant people :) hope to see everyone again in Ventura for the next Quantgen @GordonConf in 2 years time, and sooner on other occasions!
It was a wonderful conference in quantitative genetics @GordonConf. Hope to see you in 2027 :)

It was a great time at GRS 2025 in Quantitative Genetics and Genomics @GordonConf. Thank you all for joining us - I can’t wait to see you again in 2027! Now it’s time to enjoy the fantastic talks at GRC.

After 4 fantastic years of research, with @caina89 & @heinig_matthias, I’m thrilled to share the first tissue specific map of apparent mtDNA heteroplasmy in humans and their relationships with donor age and mtDNA gene expression across 49 human tissues!👇 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Very happy to share *two* new projects from my group now on @biorxivpreprint on mtDNA variation effects on tissue-specific gene expression conducted using RNAseq data in 49 tissues in the @GTExPortal project! 🧵 1/n
Finished my defense today, it was a blessing having you since the beginning 🥰🥰@caina89 @JolienRietkerk @SimonWengert @Xenofon_G @Simon_CEChang

It was so lucky to start my academic journey with you Na. Big big THANK YOU!! 🥰🥰🥰
My first PhD student @Lianyun_Huang has now successfully defended her PhD and is now Dr Huang! 🎉🎉🎉 Thank you for 4 years of hard work, it’s an honor to be part of your academic journey!
The GRS and accompanying GRC are a great place for PhD students and postdocs to broaden their network and present research. They are intentionally kept small and foster great discussions. It is one of my favorite conferences and we would love to see you there!
The deadline for being considered as an oral presentation is Nov 10th, submit your abstracts asap :)

Such a great time at #wcpg2024. It was lovely to meet old and new friends. See you all in 2025 🥰🥰

Morning to all those at #WCPG2024 If you’re interested in integrating genetics into longitudinal or life-course data then pop by our symposium at 3pm with amazing speakers @RobynWootton @poppyzenzi @rubietsang @karmelchoi @ISPGnet
Good morning #WCPG2024!☀️today is an exciting day: we @AndrewSchork @jonathan_flint1 have a symposium on heterogeneity and comorbidity at 3pm (Summit 2) and my student @JolienRietkerk is presenting her work on genetic architecture of psych comorbidity phenotypes - join us there!
GM from Singapore #wcpg2024!🌏 I am presenting an update on the current results of the *Adolescent-Onset Depression GWAS* on Friday at 3pm in the symposium on Genomics and Life Course Data. Come and watch! @PGCgenetics @EAGLE_GENETICS @ISPGnet @EdinUniMentalH @asfkwong
Are you interested in sc-spatial multiomics data, motivated by improving patient outcomes in lung cancer, and keen to join a young and growing lab taking single-cell atlassing to clinical applications? Please apply :). We're looking for Postdocs! jobs.helmholtz-muenchen.de/jobposting/43b…
Good morning #WCPG2024 ! I’m thrilled to present my research on disentangling the genetic heterogeneity of MDD using Subtest and FactorGo at 2pm in room 334-335-336. Come by and let’s have a fun chat :)
And if you want to know more about the brilliant work of @JolienRietkerk, come to the auditorium at 16:20. :D
@JolienRietkerk has a talk this afternoon in the session Lightning-6A: Methods I, on using polygenic methods to assess the genetic architecture of psychiatric disorder comorbidity - this is work in collaboration with @andywdahl, using data from iPSYCH @AndrewSchork
