Neither CCTV, gun-shot detection technology (eg Shot Spotter) or both combined led to any change in the likelihood of shooting cases being solved (🇺🇸). However, a real-time intelligence centre did increase the chances of non-fatal shootings being solved. doi.org/10.1111/1745-9…

Good to see the IOPC releasing details of what happened in a police shooting incidents in hours, not months. This is crucial (although not all that’s needed) to maintaining public confidence in police. (It would have been good to see more details in the tweet itself, though).

Asking witnesses for initial accounts straight after incidents increased the accuracy of their subsequent witness statements. The improvement occurred whether that account was obtained by a person *or an AI chatbot*. (Note lab setting, small sample size) doi.org/10.1038/s41598…
