Really pumped to be at #SfN23 to present our work on how parietal (and subcortical) lesions disrupt tool representations in the ventral visual pathway! Come by poster BB17 Sunday 1-5 pm to chat! 🧠 @URNeuroscience @URNeurosurgery @URBrainMapping
We have an exciting new paper out in #Aphasiology - "Gesture profiles distinguish primary progressive aphasia variants." We found substantial #gesture differences in svPPA compared to other #PPA variants. Get a free copy! tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10… #aphasia @LaurelBuxbaum @ArgyeH
Hey everyone, I've reached my limit for what I can tolerate here. Find me over yonder on BlueSky.
I’ll be checking this out. Sounds useful.
Join us 7th November (6:30 HK time) at Patrick Rohrer's talk on "A multimodal approach to the study of Gesture". He will be presenting their new M3D framework for gesture analysis. Register via QR Code in the poster or register at polyu.hk/BILtd
This is really nice work.
If you're at #SfN23, stop by my poster Tuesday afternoon (DD18, 1-5pm) where we discuss the fundamental role of sensory prediction in motor planning. abstractsonline.com/pp8/#!/10892/p…
Looking for a #postdoc. Come join us!
Dr. @LaurelBuxbaum's Cognition & Action Lab investigates cognitive #neuroscience and #neurorehabilitation in #stroke, limb amputation, and neurodegenerative disorders. The lab is recruiting a post-doctoral fellow! See mrri.org/job-opportunit… Please re-post.
Great to talk to @michaelwdickey and @RauRutvik at #snl2023

@AnnaKrason presenting her work on ERP in comprehension of people with aphasia @MossResearch #snl2023

@IsobelAC_SLT and Amy Lebkuecher’s poster at #snl2023 on the characteristics of people with aphasia who benefit from seeing and producing gestures.

@ozyurek_a giving keynote on multimodal language at #snl2023: gesturing while speaking, accompanied by sign language translation.

I love this. Networks (and representations) are dynamic and context-dependent. More challenging to study, but a smart way to wire things up.
🗣️🛜🟰🧠: Language regions are hubs that aren't fixed. They are spatiotemporally dynamic, connecting w/ 44% of peripheral brain regions at any moment. These are averaged and thresholded away, leaving 'the language network' ONLY in the aggregate over time: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

We're still accepting applications for this interesting #postdoc opportunity to work on funded projects at the interface of action, executive control, and #cognitive #neuroscience. Please re-post. @MossResearch @ASNRehab
Happy to announce an open #postdoc position in cognitive-motor #neuroscience to work with me and @sskphdpt on several funded projects. No need for US citizenship. See ad: mrri.org/job-opportunit… Please re-post!
My smart and hard-working research assistants Shauna Zodrow and Brandon Knight, who (along with RA Rand Williamson, not pictured) make everything possible. @MossResearch

If you’re interested in embodied cognition, check out this new website of talented collaborator @Heath_Matheson.
A new website! createlab.ca Please share with anyone, especially students, who may be interested in knowledge, learning, semantics, and embodiment!
Excited as @JAlmeidaCogNeur kicks off the first annual Seeing and Acting workshop with a great lineup of speakers #cogbooster

@LaurelBuxbaum will present her talk 'Planning, selecting, and monitoring tool-use actions: evidence from left-hemisphere stroke' at SAW2023. 👀🧠 She will discuss some interesting results comparing action selection/monitoring with semantic selection/ monitoring in language!
MRRI is delighted to share the news of an available #postdoc opportunity in the field of cognitive-motor #neuroscience. You have the chance to collaborate with @LaurelBuxbaum and @sskphdpt on various well-funded research projects.
